Emerson Approves R-448A and R-449A for use with Copeland Compressors

Emerson has announced the approval of its Copeland Scroll™ and Copeland Discus™ compressors for use with R-448A and R-449A refrigerants for low and medium temperature refrigeration applications.

“Due to the phase-out of ozone depleting substances (ODS) such as R-22, and the EPA proposal to ban certain refrigerants with high global warming potential (GWP), Emerson continues to evaluate and approve new alternatives. R-448A and R-449A have a lower GWP than commonly used refrigerants such as R-404A and R-407A.”
